Themed Retail Environment and Masculinity
Researchers are becoming more interested in consumer traits and habits of male consumers. A study was done at the ESPN Zone in Chicago on how themed retail environment motivates and excites consumers.
I would like my space to be gender neutral. To accomplish this I wanted to make the surfaces hard and cold, use a color that males or females like, and add some curves to soften the space. I think by having a nice balance of a male and female themed salon will attract both genders.
Technology May Enhance User Participation in Design
This article is about using technology (3D modeling programs and virtual reality programs) to involve occupants in workspace planning.
By using a website or blogging to communicate with my client I can convey my ideas and learn more about what they want and need so I can design a functional space for them.
Representing the Human Form in Drawings
This article is about using a variety of human forms in your architectural drawings instead of using a uniform human form.
I will be sure to include a variety of human forms in my drawings. It will eliminate issues that might arise with race and gender. It will also support my concept… a salon for all types of people!
